Emerald, all the way through. It started with the velvet ribbon on the invitations and the bridesmaids’ dresses, and ran down the long table in the tent, where limes and fruit sat among the flowers.
The rain had its own plans. The ceremony moved to the mansion’s porch, between walls of white flowers, and later that night the bride ended up laughing under a clear umbrella on the lawn. The evening closed with a champagne tower, poured by the two of them.
Behind the moment
The reception was meant to be fully outdoors, with chandeliers hanging from poles over the lawn. The forecast said otherwise, so it all moved into the tent: the same chandeliers, the same greenery, the same long table. Most guests thought it was always the plan.
