Liberty House faces Lower Manhattan from the Jersey City side of the Hudson, and the whole day played with that view.

The couple saw each other first under the green steel sheds of the old railroad terminal in Liberty State Park. They married on the lawn under an arch of white fabric and flowers, with One World Trade Center across the water, then walked the waterfront for portraits, heading toward the city.

Dinner was in the glass-walled room, under strings of lights, with blush roses on every table and the skyline in every window. The first dance had Manhattan behind it, and so did the cake.

And at the very end of the night, a small surprise: an ice cream truck waiting outside.
